The Minister of Civil Aviation witnesses the opening of the new bone marrow transplant unit at EGYPTAIR Hospital and follows up on the ongoing modernization and expansion work in some of the hospital's important treatment units.

Within the framework of the Ministry of Civil Aviations keenness to continue development work and raise the efficiency of services provided to customers, including interest in strengthening the medical system and providing distinguished and high-quality treatment services through EGYPTAIR Hospital to all patients dealing with it from inside and outside the civil aviation sector, Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, inaugurated the new bone marrow transplant unit at EGYPTAIR Hospital, which is a new achievement added to the hospitals capabilities and capacities as one of the important treatment methods for many diseases. The opening ceremony was attended by Pilot Montaser Manaa, Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation, Engineer Yehia Zakaria, Chairman of EGYPTAIR Holding Company, and Pilot Sherif Khalil, Assistant Chairman of EGYPTAIR Holding Company, and they were received by Dr. Ayman Salah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EGYPTAIR Medical Services Company. In this context, Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, expressed his appreciation for the efforts made, the results of which were crowned today with the opening of the bone marrow transplant unit, which contributes to providing everything new within this large medical edifice to treat all patients and provide them with all the necessary services and medical support, as the unit is considered a new step and an important addition in reducing the waiting lists of patients wishing to undergo bone marrow transplant operations. The Minister of Civil Aviation praised the development and modernization work currently taking place at EGYPTAIR Hospital in all departments, which have been equipped with devices with modern global technologies, to continuously improve the quality of medical services provided to patients, pointing out the need to maximize the optimal use of the resources available in the hospital, including: infrastructure, modern technical devices, and training medical staff at the highest levels, in order to achieve the highest economic and investment returns for the benefit of the system and in order to achieve medical excellence and enhance the ability to compete internationally with major medical institutions locally and globally. During the opening ceremony of the treatment unit, the Minister listened to a detailed explanation from Dr. Ayman Salah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EGYPTAIR Medical Services Company, where the plan for developing EGYPTAIR Hospital was presented, in order to accommodate the number of visitors during the coming period, increase equipment and supplies, and present the capabilities of the new bone marrow transplant unit, and the medical and clinical services it provides to customers, which contributes to reducing the waiting lists of patients wishing to undergo bone marrow transplantation in the Arab Republic of Egypt and all neighboring countries. Pointing out that the unit started its work last month, where 6 bone marrow transplants were performed, in addition to providing the hospital with 32 additional beds to accommodate the increasing number of patients and reduce waiting lists or transfers from other hospitals. These rooms have been equipped with a medical and hotel level and with the highest standards and equipment to provide a better level of comfort for patients. The bone marrow transplant unit contains (6) isolation rooms equipped with high-tech filters to provide the highest levels of safety for the patients immunity as it becomes at its lowest levels during the transplant process. It also contains a laboratory with the latest therapeutic devices for separating the marrow and a technical mechanism specialized in determining the number of marrow cells through immune classification. During the Minister of Civil Aviations inspection of the new treatment unit, accompanied by the leaders and doctors of the hospital, all the new medical services provided by the unit were reviewed, as His Excellency listened to the stages of its establishment, making it a qualitative addition to the system of medical services provided by the hospital, in addition to allocating a medical staff of doctors and nurses specialized in this field with the supervision of professors and consultants from the first level in this new medical specialty that was applied according to the highest standards Quality in construction and specialized and integrated medical and therapeutic services, making it a new addition that increases the hospitals capabilities and potential for its clients. The spotlight was also on the modern technologies that have been relied upon to treat lymphomas - leukemia - and some cases of immunodeficiency, as well as the hospitals keenness to seek the assistance of various medical expertise from competent and professional people, in addition to cooperating with foreign expertise in all specialties. The opening ceremony also witnessed the Minister inspecting the development work of the intensive care unit after it was renovated and equipped with the latest medical devices. The digestive system unit was also inspected, including its capabilities and modern medical equipment, in addition to following up on the expansion work of the pain and tumors unit. It is worth noting that all construction and development work at EGYPTAIR Hospital was carried out under the supervision and implementation of the Projects Sector of EGYPTAIR Holding Company, headed by Engineer Ahmed Al-Qadi.
