Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, inaugurated the activities of the Fourth Medical Conference of EGYPTAIR Hospital, organized by EGYPTAIR Medical Services Company on September 2nd and 3rd. The inauguration was attended by Pilot Ahmed Adel, Chairman of the EGYPTAIR Holding Company; Dr. Ayman Salah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EGYPTAIR Medical Services Company; Dr. Hossam Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Kasr El-Aini and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cairo University Hospitals; as well as a number of leaders from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and its affiliated companies, and a select group of professors, experts, consultants, and physicians. The conference will discuss the latest developments in the field of emergency medicine and urgent medical care through scientific sessions and specialized workshops addressing the latest medical protocols and practices. It will also facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledge among specialists on how to manage critical and emergency cases. In his address at the conference, Dr. Sameh El-Hefny emphasized that medical preparedness is a cornerstone of the healthcare system within the civil aviation sector. This is due to the nature of the work, which necessitates constant readiness to handle emergencies and ensure rapid response, guaranteeing the provision of necessary medical care for passengers, airport staff, and all facilities within the sector. The Minister of Aviation explained that emergency medicine is characterized by its unique nature, demanding rapid response, accurate assessment, and the ability to make sound decisions at the appropriate time. He pointed out that managing critical cases is not solely dependent on medical resources, but also requires the efficient and effective utilization of available knowledge, experience, and capabilities. El-Hefny stressed that continuous training, scientific research, and the exchange of expertise are essential elements for maintaining the competence of personnel and keeping pace with the rapid advancements in medical science and practice. He noted that knowledge, experience, professional conscience, sound judgment, and compassionate decision-making remain crucial factors, particularly in dealing with emergencies.
