Under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Salah, Chairman of the Board, and as part of the hospitals ongoing commitment to enhancing the skills of its medical and nursing staff, the Internal Medicine Department, headed by Dr. Naglaa El-Ghandour, organized an event to commemorate World Diabetes Day. The event included a comprehensive lecture providing a concise overview of diabetes, its diagnosis and types, methods of prevention, and prevalence. During the event, the nursing staff received training on: • The fundamentals of optimal care for diabetic patients in the inpatient department. • Methods for managing critical blood glucose levels. • Proper principles of diabetic patient care. • Guidelines for healthy nutrition for diabetic patients. • Safe insulin injection techniques. • Pre-operative monitoring of diabetic patients. Furthermore, the Diabetes and Clinical Nutrition Departments conducted an educational lecture for outpatients, covering: • A comprehensive overview of the nature of diabetes and its most important symptoms and indicators. • Proper monitoring methods to ensure blood glucose control. • Free random blood sugar testing for patients. • Educating patients about diabetes complications and how to prevent them. • Distributing simplified educational brochures containing information about the disease, prevention, and the basics of healthy nutrition for diabetic patients. This initiative reflects the hospitals commitment to promoting health awareness among patients and providing comprehensive medical services based on education, prevention, and ongoing support.
