? Nephrology is a specialization within internal medicine which focuses on the prevention , diagnosis and treatment of kidney disorders. Our nephrologists see patients with a wide range of conditions including diabetes & hypertension . inherited disorders such as polycystic kidney disease and end stage renal disease . We also help patients through follow-up management of kidney transplant . We offer both inpatient and OPC care to all nephrology patients round the clock . this includes counselling management of all kidney disorders , procedures and the support of systems affected by kidney disease.

? The kidney transplant inpatient unit at Egyptair hospital is a 5 bed unit with a dedicated and experienced staff who specialize in the care of patients who are preparing for a kidney transplant or who had a kidney transplant . 

To accommodate significant growth in patients volumes the transplant unit was developed to improve the continuum of care between pre–  and  post-  transplant patients , currently we are performing over 150 kidney transplant last 5 years with success rate 95% .

Many members of interdisciplinary healthcare team may be involved in your care including transplant unit nurses , transplant surgeons / urologists , social workers , occupational therapists , physiotherapists , pharmacists , diabetes specialists , dieticians and community care access center staff  .

? The goal of the program is to provide transplant patients a continuum of specialized care and assist them in every way possible throughout the transplant journey.

Renal transplant clinic:

The renal transplant clinic at Egyptair hospital focuses on preparing patients with chronic kidney disease for their upcoming kidney transplant surgery . we also work closely with kidney donors to prepare them for surgical procedure , once surgery has taken place , transplant patient return to the clinic for follow-up care management support and education. Referral to the program is done through the nephrologist who is managing care & planning for Renal TRX this year.
