Bone Marrow Transplant

The bone marrow transplant unit at EgyptAir Hospital contributes to reducing the waiting lists for patients wishing to undergo bone marrow transplantation in the Arab Republic of Egypt and neighboring countries. The unit was established at a financial cost of approximately 25 million pounds, which is self-financed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The unit contains 6 positive air pressure isolation rooms equipped with high-tech filters to provide the highest levels of safety for the patients immunity, as it becomes at its lowest levels during the transplant process. It also contains a laboratory with the latest devices for separating the marrow and a mechanism for determining the number of marrow cells through immune classification. The unit was established according to the highest standards of construction, medical and therapeutic quality, and a medical staff of doctors and nurses specialized in this field was allocated, under the supervision of professors and consultants from the first level in this specialty.
